The beat he dropped on this world will keep on spinnin'. Born March 14th, 1972, in Panama City, he showed up wired for sound - a mind as sharp as a Mantronix beat, a spirit as curious as a Del the Funky Homosapien rhyme.
Jaime grew up surrounded by love and guidance. His devoted mother, Sandra Shepherd, supported him every step of the way, her unwavering love shaping the man he became. His big brother, Greg Antonio, walked beside him through it all, offering strength, protection, and brotherhood. Together, Greg and Jaime poured their hearts into guiding their little brother, Robert Shepherd II, teaching him life lessons rooted in love, respect, and what it truly meant to be a big brother.
While still in elementary school, Jaime's mother, Sandra, married Marvin Shepherd, who not only welcomed her into his life but also embraced Jaime and his brother as his own. With the adoption, Jaime took on the Shepherd name, and from that moment on, the legend would be known by the pseudonym "Shep."
He attended UTA after high school, but that was just the warm-up. His real classroom had no walls: magazines, rap crews, record labels - all roads led to Eargazum, the iconic music store he built for Dallas dreamers. Eargazum grew into Xperience Music, a spot that brought J. Cole, Lil Boosie, Wiz Khalifa - and half the city - through its doors. That shop wasn't just commerce - it was culture.
Behind every move was family - both the one he came from and the one he found along the way. His cousin Juan was a crucial part of that grind, a steady right hand who kept the wheels turning when the nights got long and the vision got heavy. But Jaime's circle never stayed small - so many helped hold up the dream, brick by brick, idea by idea, building something bigger than any one man could hold alone.
This was a man who didn't just evolve - he transformed. He dug deep, reclaimed his original name - Jaime Alejandro - standing in his truth. When he married Samantha, the love of his life, on August 31st, 2019, he reimagined the family name altogether: Rokkett. A new legacy, born from a vision to soar above limits.
At home, he was Dad to Cameron, Tyrek, and Jazzman - a foundation of tough love and laughter, life lessons and late-night talks. To his granddaughter Sophia, he was proof that good men walk this earth - and leave it better for the next in line.
When the grind got too heavy, he found his peace where he always did - in the music and the game. The Kansas City Chiefs were his day-one warriors, long before the confetti fell. The Dallas Mavericks carried that same loyalty - every championship replay, every buzzer-beater, a reminder that perseverance always finds its moment. When life hit hard, he'd run those highlights back, find his joy again, then step back into the world ready to conquer.
If you knew him, you knew he claimed to hate the spotlight - but he'd steal it anyway, walk in a room and pull every eye without trying. He moved through life with that Mantronix swagger, that Del cleverness, that Rokket belief that the sky was just the starting line.
